Project Background
The Atlantic Hotel solar PV power system in Sierra Leone was designed and constructed by Sierra Leone Sunshine Energy Technology Co., Ltd. The project was built to support reliable hotel power with solar generation, battery storage, and a parking-lot steel structure.
For hotel operations, stable electricity affects lighting, water supply, refrigeration, guest services, security systems, and daily business continuity. This project was planned to help the hotel reduce dependence on unstable grid supply and generator runtime.
System Scale
| Item | Project specification |
|---|---|
| Solar PV generation capacity | 0.6MW |
| Battery storage capacity | 2000kWh |
| Parking-lot steel structure area | 1300m2 |
| Main application | Hotel daily power supply and backup |
| Project goal | 24-hour uninterrupted power support |
Project Solution
The photovoltaic system uses the hotel parking area as a solar carport structure, turning the available outdoor area into a power-generation surface while also providing shade for vehicles.
The battery storage system stores solar energy for night use and backup periods. Together with the power conversion and control equipment, the system is designed to support the hotel through daily operating hours and reduce the impact of outages.
Practical Value
| Value | What it means for the hotel |
|---|---|
| 24-hour power support | More stable daily hotel operation |
| Solar carport structure | Power generation plus practical parking shade |
| Large battery reserve | Better night and outage backup capability |
| Safer system operation | Integrated power equipment and project delivery |
| Lower generator reliance | Less fuel pressure and operating noise |
